QPR+: Question, Persuade, Refer Suicide Prevention Training + UT's Protocol for Working with Distressed Students
QPR+ Training is the QPR Suicide prevention training with the added training in UT's protocol for working with distressed students. It provides the life saving skills necessary to effectively and directly ask someone if they are suicidal, persuade them to get help and refer them to the appropriate professional. It also provides an overview of our Distressed Student Protocol.
The QPR+ training lasts about 90 minutes. Participants can expect to learn the warning signs for depression and suicidal ideation and how to ask someone if they are considering suicide. They can also expect to learn when and how to refer students for additional services and become knowledgable of resources available at the University of Tennessee for assisting distressed or distressing students.
Pre-booked sessions for groups can be arranged. Just email Dr. Connie Briscoe or Dr Marci Burroughs.
